Sponsorship Kilsyth Basketball

Family owned and run, Eastern Suburbs Driving School (ESDS) provide a comprehensive path to driver education. Their experienced instructors mold new drivers into safe, clear-thinking motorists. Kilsyth Basketball's new sponsorship deal with ESDS promises to be a fruitful partnership.
ESDS's team of friendly, professional iinstructors offer lessons in dual controlled manual or automatic, late model vehicles. Their aim is to teach safe driving techniques, creating better drivers on our roads while helping students gain full driving confidence.

David Putney from ESDS says that they "are proud to be involved with Kilsyth Basketball and the referee program and are looking forward to a partnership that will be beneficial to both parties, in particular the referees without whom basketball would not be possible". The dedication to service shown by both organisation is a common bond - both try to get the best out of their players and students, respectively. Kilsyth Basketball is taking the opportunity to help enrich the community by spreading quality driver education, whilst ESDS fosters the youth and sporting community by supporting the association.

Putney believes that referees do not receive enough credit and recognition for the role that they play in maintaining the safety of the game and ultimately ensuring that the sport is played according to the rules. He is also hoping that the relationship will enable ESDS to be in a position to improve general awareness and good road safety attitudes. Through sponsorship, ESDS can spread awareness of road safety and offer their services to prospective drivers.

Barry Spicer, Kilsyth Basketball Director of Referees, considers the partnership to be apprpriate when considering the young demographic of the referee association. Most learner drivers are quite young, just starting to become aware of their independence, and often participate in wholesome, skill-building activities such as basketball refereeing. Spicer reinforced this link between the two; a large percentage of referees are either learning how to drive or are about to go for their license.
Putney concluded in agreement, saying that "ESDS feels privileged to be in partnership with Kilsyth Basketball and sees a huge opportunity for the both to make a difference with driver attitude and driver training."

ESDS prides itself on providing great value. Get $10 OFF your first driving lesson of 60 min duration, pay only $45. Mention this promotional code when you book: 05-07-WEBBY.

A HUGE WIN ON THE ROAD FOR THE SWINBURNE KILSYTH COBRAS

After a disappointing start to the season the Swinburne Kilsyth Cobras were in desperate need of a win and that was exactly what they achieved, defeating the Canberra Gunners by 13 points in Canberra, 63-50.

With Canberra high on confidence from their thrilling four point win against Knox in triple overtime last week, the game was never going to be easy, but the road trip seemed to be exactly what the doctor ordered for our Swinburne Cobras

Inaccuracy and poor first quarters have hurt Kilsyth all season, however Saturday night's win saw the Swinburne Cobras put to bed both issues, outscoring the Gunners 18-14 at 50% accuracy. Instead of playing hunter for the rest of the match Kilsyth enjoyed being the hunted, managing to outscore Canberra in all but the last quarter.

SWINBURNE KILSYTH LADY COBRAS OUTCLASS NUNAWADING

Saturday night saw the Swinburne Lady Cobras win while on the road, outclassing the Nunawading Spectres by 14 points, 70-56.

The Swinburne Lady Cobras are beginning to stamp their mark on the 2011 Season winning their fourth match of the year and cementing their spot in the top four. The win was a hard fought victory and showed their depth within the side, with both star Abby Bishop and Head Coach Cheryl Chambers not available for the game.

Stand in Head Coach Peter Gay should be commended on his ability to ensure the team has not skipped a beat in Chambers absence as well as orchestrating an even spread of performance from the entire team. All 10 players had an impact on the scoreboard, as well as affecting 29 turnovers which always means a tough night for the opposition.

SWINBURNE KILSYTH COBRAS TAKE ON THE HOBART CHARGERS

Game Preview

The only double-header action for Kilsyth this month sees our men and women take on the Hobart Chargers this Saturday night on Hugh McMenamin Court.

The Swinburne Lady Cobras (4-1) tackle the Hobart Lady Chargers (1-5). Head Coach Cheryl Chambers is back on board as is star, Abby Bishop and after such a decisive win against Nunawading last week Kilsyth will be in a league of their own against Hobart come Saturday night.

Last weekend saw the Swinburne Cobras (2-5) notch up their second win of the season by 13 points against the Canberra Gunners in Canberra. The win should provide much needed confidence to the team as they come up against a strong and experienced Hobart Chargers (3-4) outfit.
